Item Description...

One fateful night, Toni Langston seduces her best friend, the guy she's been in love with forever. Two problems-he doesn't remember a thing that happened and now she's pregnant. Toni Langston has been in love with Simon, her best friend, for years. The night Simon breaks up with his long time girlfriend, he and Toni make love. Toni is devastated and humiliated when, in the heat of the moment, he calls her by his girlfriend's name. The next morning, Simon remembers nothing of the previous night and Toni is only too relieved not to remind him. Two months later, she discovers she's pregnant. She wants Simon to love her, apart from any obligation he might feel because of the baby. So she embarks on a quest to seduce her best friend, to make him see her as more than a little sister, to make him love her as much as she loves him. It works. Maybe too well. Now when things are perfect, she faces telling him of the secret she's kept.

Reviews - What do our customers think?
disappointing  Jun 11, 2008
I was very disappointed in this book--the cover is the juiciest thing about the book. It was just your average romance story with typical story lines. The sex was not hot like I've have come to expect with Ellora's Cave books.

Not as advertised but still quite engaging  Mar 25, 2008
This book is not really erotica. There are 2 tepid sex scenes, however the book is completely engaging and a great read. I liked all the characters the heroine held her own with the alpha males. If you are looking for erotica or your typical Maya Banks this is not it, this is more of a sweet romance like a high end Harlequin with some sex.

nothing to rave about.  Feb 8, 2008
With the title and the cover picture one would expect it to be hotter and racier. The guys in the book are pretty much nice guys (yeah) but the main character is immature and stupid. It is a shallow romance novel- there is a time and place for that. But don't expect too much from it.

Poor imitation of "Her Best Friend's Lover"  Feb 6, 2008
Toni has pined for Simon for years. He's one of her closest friends; he even shares a home with Toni, her brother Matt and their other roommate AJ. After Simon discovers his girlfriend has cheated on him, he returns home drunk and he and Toni hook up, he utters the other girl's name, promptly forgets the encounter, then Toni turns up pregnant, and not wanting to rock the boat, decides to keep it from Simon.

If the plot sounds eerily familiar, it's because Shiloh Walker's "My Best Friend's Lover," has a pretty identical plotline. But where Walker is able to tell a compelling, sexy, and romantic story, Banks fails to generate any heat or a believable storyline. It is a tepid and underdeveloped romance with characters that don't really jump off the page. With a hefty price tag, the plot is more similar to an overwrought and undeveloped pulp romance than an offering from a publisher known for racy erotic romances. Skip it and check out Walker's story instead.

Don't Waste your Money  Jan 19, 2008
The title and the synopsis of this book, will make you think you are about to read something romantic, juciy, and engaging. However, that is not so; this book failed completely. There was no romance, only confusing arguments, the only thing juciy about this book, was that they had sex and he could'nt remember it, that I already new from that back of the book. This book had so much potential. I set aside money that I use to treat myself with, it's not a lot, but to me it is, and I feel cheated.Seducing Simon
