Product Description
Kaylee was on her own long before the magical nonsense of the Knights of the Living Five deprived her of a family. Careworn and alone, she survives on the skill of her hands and the grace of her rundown farm until a greedy developer, a string of bad luck and an overly bright star seduce her into wishing for something more. When the kilted madman on horseback skewers her pickup truck with a sword, it occurs to her it really is important to be careful what you wish for.

Reviews - What do our customers think?

From time to time, most vehicle owners might like to take a sword or something to their car or truck and beat it to death, but not literally. Nonetheless, Kaylee looks up to find a kilted madman whacking her dilapidated truck with a sword in the middle of a rainstorm, so he can rescue her from the belly of the beast. From that point forward, her life changes in strange and wonderful ways. The madman is Malcolm, a Knight of the Living Five, and he and his children have been sent forward nine centuries to the present on a quest to find a mystical diamond. It only takes hours for the children and then their father to work their way into Kaylee's heart. As they strive to build a new life in this land, Kaylee is afraid to love too deeply, for they might be snatched away at any moment. They are not the only ones who have made their way forward in time. Enemies who also want the diamond and who are as evil as Malcolm is noble are also there and willing to kill, washing in blood all hopes of a happy future.

**** Reading this was a delight. Seeing the travelers from the past adjust to the present was charming and the twist in the tale is guaranteed to make you smile. I hope that all five of the gems have a story connected to them. ****

What a wonderful "night's" entertainment! I didn't want to put the book down to answer the phone. Kaylee is a wonderful character and we are cheering her on throughout her struggle to hang on to her home despite adversity. The author provides us with a humorous look at the rapid transition from the Middle Ages to the present time experienced by our time traveling knight and his companions. I only wish there were more books like this out there.
