Item Description... Want to know why your guy acts the way he does? Who he is... when no one's looking? What he craves more than anything else? (Hint: It's not what you think.) If you know where to look, the clues are all there--in his eye roll, crossed arms, sigh, and "the grunt." In what he says quietly but means loudly . . . and in what he doesn't say at all. "7 Things He'll Never Tell You "will teach you "manspeak." It'll transform your relationship from ho-hum to exciting, from exasperating to fulfilling, from good to great . . . and into the most satisfying partnership you could imagine |

 | 7 Things He'll Never Tell You: But You Need to Know Nov 2, 2008 |
| Excellent read! Written in a humorous vein, very entertaining. I learned a great deal about this species of men and it's been quite helpful in dealing with my own. | | | | A few good tidbits, but not much more Oct 31, 2008 |
First off, this is written by a Christian, for Christians. I didn't realize that when I started reading, but it quickly became apparent. Yes, there are a few good tidbits of information here, but overall, the book just irritated me. Some of the psychological insights presented in the first 3 chapters are good (conversation abilities, parental influences, don't make him into your girlfriend). After chapter 3 it just gets more and more "old fashioned" or male-centric.
As other reviewers have noted, it really does put all or most of the onus of the relationship on the woman. You are supposed to totally understand where he's coming from and give in to him at all times, no matter if he's acting like a baby or a jerk or a hothead. According to the author, there's always a good reason that he's acting the way he's acting - and mostly it's because the woman isn't catering to him the way men should be catered to. Some of the example situations discussed in the book really bothered me...really, these guys need to GROW UP! Take responsibility for being a man in a relationship - communicate like a grown-up, act like a grown-up, lose the temper tantrums, and lose a bit of your self centered-ness.
The author is definitely old school - "women are supposed to give up their lives for their man" is the background message here. Cater to his every whim and "need" no matter how childish, read his mind all of the time, and you will have him for life.
Yes, I agree women need to respect their mates, but that goes both ways Mr Leman! | | | | 7 Things He'll Never Tell You (but you need to know) Oct 24, 2008 |
I recommend this book for any women who would like to understand how the male really thinks. This is good if you have a boyfriend, a son, a husband, or a son-in-law. You should really give it a try. You'll be glad you did.
| | | | I WANT MY MONEY BACK Oct 15, 2008 |
This book is the most blatant example of sexism I have ever read. Basically, Leman believes that women can help their marriages by being submissives who allow their husbands to oggle women, never point out any wrongdoings and NEVER turn down their husbands want and desires. Everything from "handing over the remote" and letting them faulter in family obligations is suggested. If marriage is a 50/50 partnership, Leman hasn't got the memo. I feel sorry for his wife and can't believe he will pass these horrible ideals onto his children. This man has four daughters! Please save your money and buy a book that actually believes that it is o.k. not to be in the mood for sex once in a while and that if your husband gropes you, you have the right to say no if you feel like it. I am actually pulling lines from the book! I need a refund!!!
