Publishers Description
From bestselling author, Donna Hill comes an evocative, unforgettable novel about love, friendship, marriage, adultery...
"You'll find out soon enough. So I may as well say it now. I slept with my best friend's husband. There is no explanation. Not a real one, anyway, not one that people will accept, especially people who know me. . .But I want to tell my side. . .Just hear me out. . ."
Asha and Lisa have been best friends since grade school and they have always shared everything. A beautiful and accomplished photographer, Asha never seems to lack excitement or a man to share it with. Yet, for a woman who appears to have it all there is always "that something" she needs to make her feel whole. . .worthy.
Lisa, "the good girl," has always dreamed of the perfect marriage to the perfect husband. Now she has both with Ross Davis and she has their future planned to the last, perfect detail.
Ross didn't want to believe that he and Lisa had married too soon. He didn't want to believe that each day the man he thought himself to be was being stripped away by the woman he loved--leaving him feeling like a kept man instead of the man of the house.
And then--betrayal. No one knows how it happened, how they could have done this to each other. But now, they each want to tell their side of the story.
As Asha, Lisa and Ross travel down the road to discovery, you will root for them, hurt for them, hate them and love them. But you will never forget them.
An Ordinary Woman is about the betrayal of the most sacred of trusts. It is about the that one moment when a single choice will change lives forever. It is a cautionary tale that dares to look deep inside the hearts and minds of the characters involved. Most importantly, An Ordinary Woman attempts to answer the question: How?

Being a person who likes to see things for myself. I proceed to read this novel inspite of some of the negative comments that I've heard. And it turned out to be a great book.
I wouldn't exactly call this book a page turner, but an interesting story that will have you thinking long after you're done with the book.
Ross and Asha were an example of two people who were thirsty, and they drank and drank until they quench their thirst, without the thought of where this water was coming from. Another words, they didn't think about the consequences behind the act they just committed. Asha didn't think about losing the only family she ever had, and Ross didn't think on how it would jeopardize his marriage until it was too late. All it took was a little communication and things would've never gone that far.
I was really touched by this story. In a way I thought it was kind of sad to see a lifetime of friendship going down the drain like that. Although Lisa and Asha were somewhat still on speaking term at the end, things will never be the same again. It will take many, many years to heal those wounds.

| Well devloped characters and a relatable storyline is what made this book a good read for me. I loved Ms. Hill's flowing writing style. I look forward to reading more of her titles. | | | | Amazing how well we think we know people......... Jan 24, 2005 |
What I found interesting about this book is that the characters were really developed, it is written from all three of the main characters point of view, tastfully written, and it is sadly true to life.
What I don't found interesting about this book is that it start really slow, Asha and Lise couldn't tell that the jealously was the glue that hold them together, Lisa is a little to naive of her surrounding, and Ross sometimes would seems almost childish.
I would recommend this book because it will enlighting you.....good job Donna Hill
Much Love Ms.P | | | | Boring Boring Slow Dec 2, 2004 |
| I have been trying to finish this book for about two weeks. This story is drawn out and boring. I generally like to finish a book once I have started but I have to put this one down. | | | Write your own review about An Ordinary Woman: A Novel
