Reviews - What do our customers think?
 | So much potential, so disappointing Aug 29, 2008 |
| The review I read excited me about this book. Ordered it and saved it for a summer read when i could enjoy it...started okay but then fell into more of a reflection on the author and her life rather than a means of reconciling faith and science. At times theologically iffy and despite claiming to be Catholic, has some rather non-Catholic ideas about religion and God. Just not what I was expecting. | | | | not what I expected, but still good Apr 1, 2008 |
I found this book while trying to find something on physicists' views of Christianity and God. It's more autobiography than anything else but it still gives insight into the supposed conflicts between science and faith.
While her theology is a little more universalist than strictly Christian, she still gives a wonderful, mystic view of faith in God. One of my favorite analogies is where she compares the dual nature of Christ (completely God and completely man) to the dual nature of light (completely particle and completely wave.) Her descriptions of her time spent in retreat at the Monastery of Christ in the Desert are exquisite.
